What is Causing Your Skin Issues?


Skin care and beauty companies would have you believe that if you have less-than-perfect skin you are just not using the right products…in other words, your skin is dirty. Ummmm….I am going to go out on a limb here and that is likely not the case for anyone reading this.


In the US alone:

Acne affects 40-50 million people.

Rosacea affects 16 million people.

Psoriasis affects 8 million people.


Expensive lotions, creams, toners, antibiotics, pills, etc seem to have hardly put a dent in these numbers because for the most part, they aren’t addressing root causes, they are attempting to manage symptoms.


So what are the root causes?? In many cases, it boils down to two things: stress and/or your diet – fantastic news since you can manage both!!


It is well-documented that stress wreaks havoc on your body in all sorts of ways, but in particular it is known to affect acne, rosacea and psoriasis flare-ups. And yes, you hear it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. stress is bad for you - but it feels impossible to get rid of, right? I couldn’t agree more, but managing it is possible. I won’t go in to all the ways here (think exercise, meditation, etc.) but rather will talk about how our sessions specifically look to heal your skin issues from every angle, every time – including managing your stress.

Second, we use LED technology that is proven effective:

Third, our sessions are non-toxic and safe for all skin types…yes, even the most sensitive skin will be OK because what we’re doing is all-natural. The last thing we want to do is add more harsh chemicals to your skin – that is not what we’re about here.


Now on to the second part…diet. I, personally, see the effects diet has on my skin every day. While I already had a very healthy diet of non-processed foods, mine was heavy on dairy. I grew up eating a lot of dairy and never had an issue until two years ago. After doing much research and many bouts of trail-and-error, I realized dairy was what was causing my rosacea to flare-up. While scientists are not yet completely sure why dairy is causing skin issues for many, there is speculation that added hormones are interacting with our own to throw them off balance and cause acne. If you are suffering from acne or rosacea and are interested in seeing how diet affects your skin, I highly suggest starting with adjusting your dairy consumption and seeing what happens.
